Workmanship and materials are exquisitie throughout. Top quality, all-solid wood construction by highly skilled craftsmen using select, solid, close-grained mahogany for necks and top quality rosewood for fretboards assures that every Johnson octave mandolin is of the highest possible quality.
The traditionally-styled body is complemented by an elegant snakehead peghead with a distincitve celtic knot abalone inlay. Slim, fast neck with adjustable truss rod assures maximum playing ease. The X-braced soundboard produces a rich, mellow tone with great projection. Cosmetic details include mother-of-pearl position inlays, ivoroid binding and durable high-gloss finish.
The neck has a nice white binding with black dot position indicators. This is a superb octave mandolin as finely crafted as you could ask for...Definitely a professional instrument through and through.
