Violin/Fiddle Accessory Questions

Do you sell a bluegrass type bridge for the fiddle? Only saw one bridge on the site and I assume that would be standard height.

Sure, we sell many different types of bridges for fiddle...usually, a fiddle bridge should be individually fitted for the violin/fiddle it's intended for...there are so many variations in fiddle design such as height of fingerboard and arch of top, etc. that affects how the bridge should be properly cut to fit...for action, bridge feet fitting, flattening for easier double-stop playing, etc. We can cut a bridge to fit your fiddle for you and ensure that it's perfectly set up for fiddling; this would require that you send in your fiddle...optionally, you can order a bridge and have a local luthier fit it for you.

Subject: Tailpiece Questions...

Hi MIckey... I may need a different tailpiece for thr Cremona (or maybe fine tuners). The fine
tuners on this one are too close to the end of the tailpiece and have very little room for travel. I
can only get a couple of turns on each one and the ball end of the strings are hitting the
tailpiece.

Other than that very minor ailment, she's really a peach! I love the tone. I used to own an old
Stainer copy and I hate to say that this puts it to shame. I always thought that old Stainer was a
bit flat sounding and this Cremona proves it! It has so much bite on the low end, holy cow! It's
very clear and crisp on all stirngs. I still haven't even plugged it in yet. I was so enthralled
with the acoustic tone i just played for a while. Tomorrow nite i'll plug 'er in. Can't wait to get
into the book, either. Too many new toys to play with!

Scott

Hi Scott,

My recommendation would be the Dr. Thomastik tailpiece....this is the one I use on my personal violins...I've never liked the separate individual tuners. The Thomastik is completely integrated with the tuners and never poses a problem for tuning latitude.

Let me know if you have further interest in one of these...we do keep them in stock.

Let me know if you have any further questions or if I can assist you with anything else...
