Hi Mickey

In this issue...
1. An apology
2. Back to school
3. Left-Handers Day report

First, an apology - we know you are not called
Denis!, but our last newsletter went out in a rush
for Left-Handers Day and we did not change the name
field. Also, we have had problems with our
unsubscribe facility and making changes to
addresses and a few people have been getting extra
messages. If this is the case, we sincerely
apologise. We are working our way through the
changes you have advised and if you click
the Remove link at the bottom you will be taken
off of our list at once.

2. BACK TO SCHOOL
Another school year is fast approaching, and
having the correct tools will ensure your little
lefty gets off to a flying start. With such
a huge range to choose from we have tried to make
it easier for you by selecting the most suitable
items for different age ranges and putting them
together in money-saving packs that offer great
savings on the individual product prices. Click
on the link below or put it into your browser to
see the new school packs

If you just need to re-stock on a favourite
left-handed item, use the same link and click on
the menus for the products you want. All products
are despatched within 24 hours of ordering and are
covered by our full money-back guarantee - try it
and see what a difference they make!

3. LEFT-HANDERS DAY 13 AUGUST 2003
On 13th August this year, we urged you to turn the
tables on your right-handed friends and colleagues
by declaring your homes or offices a Lefty Zone
where right-handers had to do all tasks left-handed.
Many of you took up the gauntlet by doing just
that and having a bit of fun into the bargain!

Through your efforts, right-handers in many
countries experienced the back to front world we
encounter every day and hopefully learned to
appreciate our constant compromises as a result.
Many of you took part in local media interviews,
and highlighted the needless difficulties we
encounter through poor product design or unworkable
layouts in the home, office and school. Thousands
more visited our dedicated website
www.left-handersday.com
to take part in the quizzes and games and to learn
a little more about the fascinating minority we
represent. A lot of people have asked if they can
still do the celebrity hunt and sinister quiz so
we have extended the closing date until 31 August.
Make sure you have had a go so you have a chance
to win one of the prizes.

Here at the Head Office of the Left-Handers Club,
phones and e-mail boxes were clogged with people
wanting to take part and reporters keen to highlight
our usually forgotten grievances. The actual day,
Wednesday 13th August was largely spent in TV or
radio studios, and we are most grateful to the many
national and regional stations that took such a keen
interest in this event and were universally positive
and informed in their reporting. Most importantly
though, we are grateful to you, our Club Members for
your encouragement, enthusiasm and support for what,
with a small team of 5 people, was a mammoth task to
organise, but which you have left us in no doubt was
a hugely worthwhile event.

We will let you know when the reports from members
are up on the website. Remember to let us know if
you celebrated Left-Handers Day, and send any pictures
you may have taken, so we can include your event on
our website report, to be posted at
www.left-handersday.com
in the near future.

Best wishes as always

Keith and Lauren Milsom
and all at the Left-Handers Club

The aims of Left-Handers Day are:-

Our display stand in London's Leicester Square
13 Aug 2002

* To raise awareness of left-handedness and the challenges caused by living in such a right-handed world.

* Educate designers and manufacturers to accommodate left-handers’ comfort and safety in new product and building design

* Celebrate the strengths and advantages left-handers possess, and dispel many of the superstitions and fiction that have surrounded left-handedness in many cultures for hundreds of years, and which still create prejudice today.

* Provide the greatest possible range of tools and equipment specifically designed for left-handers to use – making everyday tasks easier than left-handers have ever experienced, and making a positive difference to their lives.

* Promote research into various aspects of left-handedness. This year we publish the results of our 1-year Lifestyle Survey, in which thousands of our members took part to compile a picture of the jobs, activities and hobbies that left-handers tend to choose. Click here to see the fascinating results.
