Folk of the Wood aims to offer a full support system for all acoustic artists, whether beginner or advanced. The enclosed lessons are oriented towards the beginner to intermediate player. Even so, there is some info that may be of interest to the advanced player. For instance, some of the crosspicking lessons and pdf files are quite challenging. We will attempt to add advanced lessons as this section grows.

Please Note: If you are a beginner, be sure to pay close attention to developing good habits from the start. It's highly recommended to study under a qualified music instructor that can make sure you're starting your lessons with the correct positions and proper form. If, perchance, you cannot find a local teacher, you might at the very least consider video instructional tapes. A methodology oriented video will give you a visual reference on proper positioning which is somewhat difficult to communicate in still images. An instructional video is the next best thing to having a personal instructor.
