MIckey,
Hold the phone.....WHAT IS THIS!?!?! I've never seen a Metal Body Dobro Mandolin before. THIS IS AWESOME.... Of course, questions to follow:
Do you play this like a dobro or a mandolin?
Yes, it's played exactly like a mandolin...
What kind of tonal quality are going to get?
It sounds metallic...kind of a dobroistic sound...very bluesy...
Is the the same tuning as a mandolin or are there various tunings you can use?
It's meant to be tuned like a mandolin...however, you can use other tunings of your choice...
How easy is it to play....is the neck any longer than a regular mandolin?
It's fairly easy to play...some of this depends on the set-up....the neck is the same scale as the mandolin....
If is listed in the mandolin family, I wonder if you can also use a "slide" with it and play it like a la Bonnie Rait?
Most definitely...I believe it's best advantage is to play it with a slide...listen to Sam Bush with his efforts with slide mandolin.
This is definetly an "eye-catcher"......I'm seeing a Christmas present under the tree this year. How long would it take to get this?
We have two in stock now...you may call James about availability around Christmas @ ...
Mickey
Thanks again,
Vern Pringle
