Subject: Does the violin have a learning curve?

Before I ask my question I would just like to emphasize my thanks. This is the most comprehensive online musical lessons sight I've found.
I am 17 yrs old and interested in learning another instrument. I have been playing the trombone for 7 years, piano for 5 years, singing for 4 yrs and playing the acoustic guitar for 6 months. I can tune and play by ear. So does the violin have a learning curve? I'm proficient on the guitar after half a year, can I expect the same results with a violin or will the progress be slower due to the complexity and technique needed to play it? I practice around 4 hours a day. Start out learning all the scales and notes. I check in with a music teacher when I hit road blocks. Any Opinions? Advice?
Sincerely
Greetings,
Yes, the violin has a substantial learning curve...only, do not let that discourage you. It's a fun instrument to learn...my only suggestion would be to find personal instruction, or at the very least, find a good methodology video, to minimize the frustration. With this process, you should find the learning process far more inspiring...and certainly more fun!
Violin is far more challenging to learn than guitar; however, with your guitar background, and music theory foundation, you'll find learning violin far easier than without this background.
