Choosing a Mandolin Renaissance style mandolin for Medieval Reenactments or Festivals

Subject: Renaissance style mandolin

Hi! I love your site. Thanks for all the information. I' m looking for a medium priced mandolin to play the Renaissance Faires. I'm a guitar player. It seems like the Webers are so PLAIN. Anyway to get one that is a little more ornate? Special binding? Decorative soundhole? Without breaking the bank?
Thanks!

Greetings MaryLee,

We've had this very same request a few times...to stay within the medieval timeline, you'll want an A-style body...maybe something with a matte or natural finish...You'd be surprised at the elegance of the low-end Weber in person...they may look relatively plain in picture format...but in person, it's an entirely different story. For the Renaissance Faires you might even consider the Y2K4 with a flat style face and matte finish...

If you'd like something more ornate, you might consider the Weber Absaroka...it's about the finest mandolin you'll ever see, hear or play in the A-style format...we can add all types of custom options on any Weber of your choice...

If you'd like to discuss this with our Weber mandolin expert, call James @ 888-209-8434...
