Hi again,
I also have a Grand Solo Violin from the same time period. What interest do you percieve for this one?
Thanks, Sandy W.
Sandy:
There remains an interest in older German trade
violins in good condition and with good tone. The
prices these days seem to depend greatly on condition
and playing characteristics, thus an estimate without
inspection is difficult. Except in large shops, these
violins rarely bring more than $1000.

Michelle,
Steve Perry for Folk of the Wood. My old catalog
compilations show a Grand Solo Guarnerius model being
sold by Rudolph Wurlitzer of Cinncinati and Chicago in
1910 for $16. This one has grand solo and Guarnerius
on the back of the scroll. Listed at $200 in the mid
1970s, so double or triple that depending on
playability, condition, and market desire. I'm not
sure on the market desire!

Hello!
I have a Grand Solo Violin by Guarnerius (stamped on back) handed down through at least 4 generations in my
family. my 11 year old daughter now plays it. It is in great condition and has been well loved. Someone said it might be of value.
Any ideas on true date and value? Michelle
