With all of the same features as the standard Calico only with the "Blue Roan" finish.

The crisp, bright tones and delicate beauty of the Calico bring out the real fun of playing a banjo. It has a beautiful natural flamed maple neck and resonator with purfling and ivoroid binding. Mother- of-pearl scroll inlays adorn the ebony fingerboard. The neck has a two-way adjustable truss-rod, as do all Deering banjos. Bound in white, the peghead has an elegantly finished look. the slender neck shape is fast and easy to play.

The excellent tone comes from our three-ply maple rim, virgin bell bronze tone-ring and zinc flange, combined with figured Eastern hard rock maple neck and resonator. All Deering banjos come with a geared fifth tuner for accurate tuning.

Just thought I'd let you know that I received the Calico last night, and it
arrived in perfect condition. It looks and sounds awesome, and was just
what I had in mind when I placed the order almost 3 months ago. Well worth
the wait. So, just want to say thanks for all the work you did in placing
the order and working everything out with Deering, and to everyone else at
FOTW. I wouldn't hesitate buying from you guys in the future.

Thank you a million, Suzy and the people at Folk of the Wood!

I was in the market for a new banjo and contacted you to get an idea of what
makes and models to look at. After evaluating all the reams of information
you were able to give me in e-mails and on the web site, I decided you
didn't have exactly what I wanted !! So I called and was put in touch with
Suzy, who must be the most helpful person on the planet, and she was able to
work out the details with Deering Banjo Company to create a custom Calico
for me. I wanted a few of the more-standard options, but I had to throw in
the monkey wrench of a custom staining. She was able to convey exactly what
I wanted to the people at Deering, and now that I have the finished product,
I couldn't be more pleased. It's almost too pretty to touch, but I can't
put it down! The set up is fantastic, the quality is unbelievable, and best
of all, it sounds terrific. Now my goal is to learn to play as well as the
banjo will let me--no small feat.

Thanks for helping me buy a new Deering Calico. It arrived on Friday, and I have spent several hours playing it already. Your fair trade in policy and excellent selling price were very "instumental" in my decision to make this purchase.
