Advanced Melody "Sailor's Hornpipe" Key of G

Notes: Be careful to play with the proper down and up strokes...every second eighth note uses an upstroke. The first notes, of the pair of eighth notes, are played with a downstroke, and the second notes are played with upstrokes.

A note on the chord symbols: The chord diagrams, indicated above the standard notation, are for reference only. If you, or another player, would like to learn the back-up...these diagrams give the chordal positions, in the open-position, on the mandolin fingerboard. For guitar back-up, simply use the lettering above each diagram.
