Subject: Blueridge BR180 Guitar

Dear Sir...I was thinking of buying the subject guitar. But having checked around various website chat rooms, I seem to have found that because of the thin top and the vintage bracing, the top seems to bow up quit a bit from being normally flat. Have you heard or seen anything like this before?
On your BR 180's that you have in stock, is the top surface perfectly flat wrt a straight edge placed across the lower bout(l to r) just below the bridge and measured at the perimeter of the top.
Thanks..Gary
Greetings Gary,
Glad to assist:
We haven't seen this firsthand on new Blueridges...I suspect this happens over time or is caused by high humidity conditions. I know that the Blueridge is built for a high responsiveness with the thin top and light scalloped bracing...only, in this effort it does become more susceptible to weather changes.
I am familiar with tops bubbling up on older guitars...and have seen this quite often. Today, there's a fix for this...it's called the Bridge Doctor. This device adds to the tonal range of an acoustic guitar while stabilizing the top. It comes standard on all Breedloves made today...not only does it prevent tops from bubbling up over time, it can also be installed after the fact and will bring the bubble back down to a flat surface. My suggestion, if you're set on purchasing a Blueridge BR-180, would be to have a Bridge Doctor installed from whomever you purchase it through...
