Subject: octave mando cases

Hi Mickey,
Just bought a Weber Sage #2 octave from you guys and am really pleased with the instrument and Weber's case, but I'm interested in finding a lighter case for travel. I've been impressed with Travelite cases, but haven't seen one for an octave mando or banjo (which might also fit an octave?). Do you know of a good lightweight case for an octave? Would you trust a bag? If so, which one?
Thanks,
Andy

Greetings Andy,
Sorry, I haven't seen any featherlites that would fit an Octave...and, remember, most octaves are different from one another due to different scale lengths...therefore, more than likely, what may fit one octave may not fit another, such as the Weber...with a longer scale length than average...
I wouldn't trust a gig bag with a Weber high-end octave such as you have...now, you might consider purchasing a second import octave to ensure that you do not damage your Weber...such as a Trinity College Octave...when having it fitted with a gig bag, you would have the perfect travel instrument...believe me, I do not take my Weber Big Sky Octave anywhere...it stays indoors and usually resides in my media studio...I played your Sage #2 in this same media studio before it was shipped out to you...in fact, I put together a few video samplers of which should be posted on our website within the month...additionally, the Sage #2 photos on our website are one and the same as yours...yours is a superb octave...and has some amazing resonance...hold on to it.
