Dixie
This is a melody that most everyone will recognize...for your very first melody, it's best to know where it's supposed to go...so we're going to start with a recognizable melody.
Finger Positions for the fretting hand:
2nd Fret: Index Finger
3rd Fret: Middle Finger
4th Fret: Middle Finger
5th Fret: Ring Finger
Pick Directions:
D = Downstroke
U = Upstroke
Notice the repeat dots where the Number 1 Bracket is...from the beginning go to the Number 1 Bracket and start back at the beginning directly after reaching the repeat dots...the second time through, skip the Number 1 Bracket, and go directly to the Number 2 Bracket and continue to the end.
