Message: I own a Hill Country dulcimer, and in attempting to do research on it I ran across an old page that you had put up on the company, which was located in Fredericksburg, TX.
Apparently the company no longer exists in that location. Do you know any more about them?
Thanks!
Marti
Greetings Marti,
I'd love to assist ... unfortunately, I've also lost track of Hill Country.
I did find their store at: http://www.hill-country-music.com/HCM/Welcome.html
Only, I'm unsure that they're one and the same builder that originally built your dulcimer.

Subject: Dulcimer Q's~thanks in advance!
HI! I am a new dulcimer player (newly addicted!), and
I think I'm falling for the Hill Country Backpacker.
I currently have a Walnut Creek that I love, but I
seem to be a very quiet player and am not sure if it's
ME or the instrument or both! How is the volume of
the Hill Country Backpacker? Also, is it a little
less fragile (I hope!) than the one I currently own?
(Or is there even such a thing! LOL!) THANKS SO
MUCH! ~sandi
Greetings Sandi,
The Backpacker is a smaller bodied dulcimer and does not have the fullness nor the volume of a full-size dulcimer. I suspect it's as fragile as most dulcimers are: lightweight and very small...it's meant for portability...lots of fun to own though!
Here's Hill Country's website:

I hope something here helps, Mickey
