Bow Strokes: When first learning this melody, try using nothing but alternating bow strokes...keep your timing even...the arrangement below consists of nothing but the skeletal frame of the melody. After learning this base melody, with alternating bow strokes, then try adding one bow stroke for the first two notes, followed by alternating up and down strokes for the next two notes...and then repeating this pattern throughout...this would be the shuffle bow technique, used commonly in most fiddle tunes. This shuffle bow technique works especially well with a succession of eighth notes.
