Following are studies in the Key of E...these can be fairly advanced...so take your time in your efforts to learn these patterns. With these scale studies, you will be developing both your left and right hand dexterity. You will become far more proficient at learning new material or taking on any musical setting challenge.
Notes: The Key of E is an uncommon key for mandolin...especially as applied to bluegrass. As a complete mandolinist, it's still worrth your effort to memorize and become comfortable with these patterns. These scales can also offer application as unichordal positions. When playing in the Key of A, many times the progression will land on the E chord, and these patterns will fit in well when played over the E chord.
