The Firefly Flame is the new top of the Michael Kelly mandolin line. This is a limited production mandolin and only 180 will ever be produced in each color option. The centerpiece of the Firefly models is the unique vine inlay design carefully inlaid into the fingerboard. The inlay made from real pearl and abalone with some special colored accents gives this mandolin a truly custom look. The Flame has one of our most in demand new features, a radiused fingerboard. This new feature is comfortable to play and many players feel that it improves their performance. The back of this fine new model also features a figured maple. Flame maple is also used on
the neck and sides.

The Firefly Flame arrived Saturday in great condition. The intonation was still spot on after shipping and it sounds just as good as it looks -- in other words, awesome.
Finding a factory left-handed solid wood F-style mandolin for under $1,000 was already a pleasant suprise. However, the fact that Michael Kelly doesn't require an upcharge for left-handed models makes it just that much better.
