Folk of the Wood presents
An Introduction to Michael Kelly

From Michael Kelly: Since 1999 Michael Kelly has been producing unique high quality stringed instruments. Our goal as a company was not to become the biggest guitar company or most expensive brand. We set out with a clear objective of creating instruments that had a look, playability and sound that was something special.

We believe that musicians by their very nature are unique individuals. We had become bored with every guitar, bass and mandolin on the market looking just like every other brand. As we started to sell instruments with a little “flare” we quickly discovered that many musicians felt the same way that we did.
At Michael Kelly we are committed to continuing to offer more colors, inlays and designs than the limited selection offered
by most companies.

Looks are not the only area where Michael Kelly has delivered substantial improvements. Sound is our top priority and you can tell that as soon as you strum one of our instruments. Whether you are checking out our mandolins, acoustic guitars, resonators, banjos or acoustic basses you will find that we have achieved a sound that far exceeds our instruments cost. With our mandolins you will find our instruments are deeper than other similarly priced instruments and have far more hand carving than any
competitor. This has lead to us having a tone that has often been compared with instruments at twice there price. We have also developed upgraded bracing on our acoustic guitars and basses and improved critical components for our resonators.

We invite you to take a really close look at all of our instruments. We are confident that you will be excited about how they look, surprised with how smoothly they play and you be sold by how they sound. All Michael Kelly instruments are now available through the top music retailers around the world. Our entire Michael Kelly team remains anxious to assist you. We will gladly answer any questions you have and help you select the right MK
for you. Please let us know how we can best assist you.

Subject: Thank You James!

I was playing my MK Firefly mandolin today and realized I forgot to thank James for all his help. My mandolin came impeccably intonated and in perfect tune. It plays like butter! Thank you so much, James for the work you put into it. The pickup rocks (or should I say bluegrasses) and the acoustic sound did not suffer at all. The stinger strap is cool, too. It arrived a day sooner than promised. I came home on Friday after a hard work week and there it was!! Thanks folks at Folk of the Wood!

Sincerely,

Mark Evans

Greetings Mark,

Thanks for the positive update...and be sure to get back with us if we can ever further assist.

I'll make sure James gets your e-mail...btw, I also use the Stinger Strap...and have found it to be the best mando strap I've seen or used to date...Mickey

Mickey and Staff:
I recently ordered a Michael Kelly Legacy Classic mandolin from Folk of the Wood. It arrived three days ago (just in time for my Wednesday night jam session), and I've forced myself to put it down long enough to send you an email. Can't vouch for my typing since my fingers are a little tender! I've been playing an old Potato Bug mandolin off and on for the last 30 years. Recently, I started playing with a newly-formed band, so I had a good excuse to upgrade to a decent instrument. I found your website while researching new mandolins and was very impressed with the wealth of information there. My order was placed by phone. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the gentleman who helped me, but he said he would also be the one to set it up for me. I was considering another brand, but he steered me toward the Michael Kelly. I am glad he did! I am very pleased with the overall quality of the instrument as well as the tone. Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the service I received from Folk of the Wood, and the quality of my new instrument. Thanks!
Best Regards, Rod Kukoda

Ordered a Michael Kelly Mandolin from you folks several months ago.
I can't begin to tell you the enjoyment and attachment I've developed for
this instrument. Thanks for all you help in explaining to me about the
different features, price ranges, and available help from your store and
website. Your beginning tape (Introduction to the Mandolin) is heads above anything I've found and your
obvious "treat the customer right and they shall return" policy is not to
be found anywhere else that I can find...Thanks again for all your contributions to us beginners and having such
a great Company. Their hard to find in todays world of hurry up and wait.
Keep up the good work. Russ/Wichita Ks
