SOLD - MSA Pedal Steel Guitar Vintage

MSA D-10 Pedal Steel Guitar: (Excellent Condition) Double Ten Neck • 4 Knee Levers • Includes Original Hardshell Carrying Case • Walnut Stain • Includes 8 Pedals • Chess Piece Symbols on Neck (Current Sale Price: Pending) No Longer Available

More Info: The left outer knee lever is called a double half step (detents down progressively 1/2 step as knee is moved to outer limit for a full step drop). The remaining knee levers work both necks in the normal steel guitar configuration without exception. The first three pedals on the left are for the upper neck E9th Chromatic tuning, and the last five are for the C6th tuning on the lower neck. Normally, Sho-Bud, MSA, and other utilize an "A, B, C" pedal configuration for the first three pedals of the E9th neck beginning left to right. However, I had this one configured to be "C, B, A" from left to right...configured as a Marlen steel guitar (others use C, B, A also). Either way it is easily modified to the player's individual taste. Also, this guitar has a factory built-in effects panel (requires 9-volt battery) that produces fuzz sounds, etc. The three-position (DPDT) center switch selects the neck to receive the effects, and I believe the other turns effects on or off. The pots then adjust the effect levels to the player's individual taste.

Assembly: To assemble the steel (in the case) unroll the black leg pouch and remove the legs from the left to right, one at a time as you attach them to the body of the guitar. They are in the sleeve in the order of installation (also left to right) and will tighten with the holes in the front legs facing from front to rear. The pedal rack should install easily if this pattern is followed and the wing nuts can be placed on the rack to secure it to the front legs (which are at the rear of the case). Once the legs are correctly installed, grasp the rear legs (front of the case) and back up from the case while flipping the steel over (counter clockwise) until is it standing on its own. In the black sleeve (middle pouch between rear and front legs) are the pedal rods. Each rod has a number stamped on it corresponding to the pedal that it is adjusted for. They need to be installed looking through the rear of the steel from left to right (#1 is the C pedal, etc.)
