Folk of the Wood presents:
Morgan Monroe Fiddles
Introduction

We know what Bluegrassers wanted in a fiddle...a loud cutting
sound that plays fast and easy, with that vintage look of an instrument
that was made years ago and a price that is affordable.
The MVF-400 Morgan Monroe Vintage Fiddle is all of that and more with
a Lifetime Warranty.

Mickey's Take: I personally played the MVF-400 at the Summber NAMM Show 2003. I must say that it's one of the loudest import fiddles I've played to date. it has a cutting edge tone with lots of sizzle. When playing in a bluegrass setting, where you will be competing with banjo, mandolin and dobro for volume, you'll find that this fiddle will stand heads and shoulders above. This is not a violin...it has all the qualities you'd expect to find in a consummate fiddle. I believe the vintage finish look truly sets it apart. Most imported violins have either a solid brown or orange finish. The MVF-400 has a distinct vintage look with the gradations of finish varying from dark to light. I'd have to say, it's one of the nicest looking imports you'll find. This would make an outstanding student fiddle and, yet, a great kick-around fiddle for the pro fiddler.
