Folk of the Wood presents
Kentucky KM-675

PLEASE NOTE: The KM-675, Made in Korea, is now discontinued. The new KM-675S has taken its place which is now made in China. For info on the new KM-675S, click here.

PLEASE NOTE for 2002: The new KM-675S is not the same KM-675 model sold last year. The new KM-675S is made in an entirely different country and factory. The original KM-675 was made in a Korean factory and as of the first quarter of 2002, the new version titled KM-675S is made in China. Choice of woods and construction are somewhat different. They both still offer all solid wood along with maple back and sides and spruce top. Since the original Korean 675 models are no longer being made, they will now hold a collectible value. The retail price of the KM-675S is substantially lower to reflect the China location of manufacture and the completely different materials, finish and construction.

We are now offering up the KM-675S from China and are hopeful that Kentucky will continue to offer the best value and quality in relation to price in existence today.

The all new KM-675 is hand-carved and graduated from the finest mountain spruce and Northern maple. It has been nearly ten years since we have been able to offer such a superb instrument at this price point.

The tops and backs begin as quarter-sawn wedgs of wood nearly one inch thick. After careful selection, all contours are carved and final graduation takes place. The tone bars are precisely dimensioned to produce a rich, powerful tone. The neck/body joint is done in the traditional manner between the 13th and 18th frets. The scale length is the standard 13 7/8".

After assembly, the completed body and neck are stained in an artistic Cremona brown sunburst and finished with a durable high gloss lacquer. Kentucky Mandolins continue to be today's best value in handmade professional quality mandolins.

Testimonials:

Date: Mon, 20 Nov 2000 Hey Mikey, Got the Kentucky 675 last friday! Exellent condition, and it plays great! I love the extra bark it gives having the solid body. The tuning keys are amazing, it hasn't gone out of tune hardly at all. It was a great deal to do the trade up, thanks alot. Don Anderson

Date: Thu, 19 Oct 2000 Hi Mickey! I received my KM-675 on Tuesday and wanted to drop you a note to thank you for helping me out on the phone and for your speedy shipping. The mandolin arrived in perfect shape in spite of the fact that the postal service seemed to have done their best to destroy the shipping box - it was *really* in bad shape.

The KM sounds great to me and was set up perfectly, I'm having a great time learning a new instrument (I'm a guitar player) and it has opened my ears to styles of music that I had been pretty much unfamiliar with, especially bluegrass...

I will recommend your site to my friends and expect to do more business with you in the future. Maybe I'll have to trade up to one of those Webers someday! :-) Regards, Bill Coates

Date: Thu, 20 Jan 2000 Dear Mickey, I am totally satisfied with the mando AND your quick and professional service. I look forward to doing more business with you in the future. Thanks again. Ian Cook

Date = 24 Apr 99 Great acoustic music website. I ordered a Kentucky F5 style mandolin from you folks last month and I've enjoyed it 100%. Easy transaction and fast delivery. Thanks for the cassette you enclosed as well. We will be visiting N.M again in July and will pass thru Alto, eventually relocating in N.M. in the near future. The DFW area has become the Big Apple. Kerry Atkinson

Date: Mon, 19 Jul 1999 Mickey, I received the Kentucky KM-675 mandolin and it is in perfect condition. Now the challenge is to remember what I used to know and move beyond my very limited playing ability. I was somewhat amazed that I remembered what the open strings sounded like when I went through the tuneing sequence. Thanks for setting the bridge and tuneing the mandolin. Minnesota's bluegrass festival (national) kicks off Aug 6 thru 8; I plan on going for at least 2 days and if you have any cards, flyers, or literature that I could pass out , let me know. Thanks for the mandolin. John Hamner

Date: Fri, 30 Jul 1999 I bought a Kentucky KM 675 Mandolin from you about 6 weeks ago. LOVE IT Thanks alot, Dan
