The entire series of Regal dobros has been given a splash of
color—and the RD-38 series of dobros features four new finishes
and eye-catching gold plated finish on all metal parts! The new
finishes include black, ivory, a traditional sunburst and a transparent,
high-gloss natural finish that effectively displays the select
mahogany and spruce used in these superb instruments.
All other features of the RD-38 series match those of the RD-30
series instruments. The same rock maple sound well combines
with the 101/2" spun aluminum cone to provide the last word in
tone and volume. Each of the four RD-38 models is available in
either round or squareneck configuration to cover all playing
styles.
The bold, new colors of the RD-38 add a huge measure of sales
appeal to a product line of long-established value—and the new,
gleaming gold finish is literally icing on the cake!

The Regal Story

Regal dobros have been favorites since the early 1930's. The first production took place in Chicago, and by 1937 Regal had taken over exclusive right as the manufacture of dobros. During the Second world War, production ceased as factories were converted to manufacture essential war time products.

Regal dobros were reintroduced by Saga in 1987, and have regained a position of leadership in the world wide resophonic guitar market.

With one foot firmly in the past, we are carrying the Regal tradition into the future. Improved finishing techniques now allow our instruments to look every bit as good a as they sound.

Regal Traditional

Squareneck Dobros® which until recently were used only in Bluegrass, Country and Hawaiian music-have now crossed over into nearly every style of American music. Television and radio commercials rely increasingly on the distinctive sound to catch consumers attention.

All Regal models feature mahogany bodies and necks, multiply white body bindings.

Regal by Design

The regal Resonator guitar line continues a proud old name and tradition with the new, state of the art manufacturing techniques to produce today's best value in an affordable resonator guitar.

Saga engineers have taken the best selling Regal line and added some significant improvements. The cover plate and tailpiece of all models are now slightly wider for ease in playing.

All Regal models feature mahogany bodies and necks, multi-ply white body bindings and a choice of beautiful finishes including: mahogany, sunburst, cherryburst, natural and black.
