Saga's new SV-220 violin outfit has the stuff from which legends are made! There truly has never been a better value in a violin for the advancing student. The ambitious student will delight in the beautifully figured tone woods the SV-220 offers as well as the rich, full-bodied tone that makes practicing a pleasure. At least 20 thin coats of transparent, rich brown varnish highlights the well-selected spruce and maple and the entire instrument has a beautiful French polish finish, buffed to a mirror-like reflection. The playing surface of the neck has the traditional oiled finish. The purfling is delicately inlaid and the channeling and edgework are exquisite. The fingerboard and trimmings are of the finest ebony.
The SV-220 violin outfit includes our TL-35 well-padded arched-top Travelite® suspension violin case with durable ballistic nylon exterior and plush interior lining. The bow is our new I. LaSalle LB-14 high-quality brazil-wood bow with full-mounted ebony frog, silver-plated wrap and genuine unbleached white horsehair. The SV-220 is available in full size and each instrument is fully shop-adjusted before shipment.

Dear FOTW,
Got my Cremona SV-320 today. The setup is great. The sound is very good. The instrument looks great. There were, however a few small scratches around the tailpiece, but I can live with it.
A few questions - in comparing it to my Palantino 450, how do you get the action so nice on the Cremona? It is much lower and easier to play than the Palantino. I'd like to be able to setup the Pal a little better. Also, what's the differences between boxwood & ebony?

Date: Thu, 1 Feb 2001 Just wanted to let you know that my new SV-320 arrived today, and I have been playing it for several hours. The workmanship is precise and the overall look is great. The sound far out does my old Meisel student model. I look forward to using the fiddle with our band now. I have been self-teaching for the last year and now with the new a vastly better sounding instrument I am ready to debut my fiddle tunes. I have been singing, playing guitar, pedal steel and harmonica for a whole lot of years. Having another instrument to enjoy will be great. Thank you very much.
