Subject: Just a thanks

Hi Mickey and friends at Folk of the Wood.

I just want to send a belated thanks to all. My
England Hawaiian arrived late last week and I just
love it! I'm enjoying it very much, even though I'm
just beginning with the forward rolls and messing
around. Practice is fun. I've just ordered an SP-4
Steel to see if that makes a difference also.
(regarding weight) Thanks again.

All the best, Michael Hackett

Subject: Thank you

I got my Gold Tone White Ladye on Friday, not two days after I ordered
it. The banjo arrived in perfect condition, shiny as a new dime and
nicely set up. Your advice with respect to selection was wise. Also, the
exhaustive information on your website was very useful. The banjo is
just what I wanted; good sound and good action at a fair price. Pretty,
too. I'll be playing this for a lot of years. On the weekend, I worked
out Gary Owen. What fun. Thanks.

Les MacPherson,

My name is David I want to thank you for all the work you have put into this web site. It has really been a great help. I played the Dobro when I was a kid but I am fifty now and have not played in many years. I am picking it back up again and finding your web site was like Manna from Heaven. When one loses most of there eye sight it gives you a lot of time and I could not think of a better way to fill it than the Dobro. Again Thank You all have a really GREAT DAy.

Hey-

Wow that's a great deal!! Thanks a lot. I talked to
Suzie on the phone today- she was really helpful too.
I would love a case with the MMS-4 if the offer still
stands. I think this time all of you at FOTW have
gone above and beyond what I expected. Thanks for
answering my barrage of emails and my calls! heh heh.
I'm telling all my acoustic friends about you!
Thanks again.

Mr. Cochran's articles on the very basics of the violin have been quite helpful! I had no instructions on what to do with the rosin in my new violin's case... Thank you for the articles!

Subject: Rigel Mandolin

Received the Rigel A+ last Friday. Beautiful mandolin, the finish and
quality is a sight to behold, can't stop looking at it! Much easier to
play than my Kentucky so I don't tire as quickly and the licks are
cleaner. Sound is richer and louder than the Kentucky also. Happy to
have the pick up too.

Love the rectangular tweed hardshell case. It looks great (retro look)
and there is plenty of room for "stuff" aside from the Mando.

Was a little leary buying over the internet sight unseen, but am well
pleased with what I received. Thanks much!

Subject: Custom Deering Calico
Date: Mon, 24 Mar 2003 14:03:35 -0600

Thank you a million, Suzy and the people at Folk of the Wood!

I was in the market for a new banjo and contacted you to get an idea of what
makes and models to look at. After evaluating all the reams of information
you were able to give me in e-mails and on the web site, I decided you
didn't have exactly what I wanted !! So I called and was put in touch with
Suzy, who must be the most helpful person on the planet, and she was able to
work out the details with Deering Banjo Company to create a custom Calico
for me. I wanted a few of the more-standard options, but I had to throw in
the monkey wrench of a custom staining. She was able to convey exactly what
I wanted to the people at Deering, and now that I have the finished product,
I couldn't be more pleased. It's almost too pretty to touch, but I can't
put it down! The set up is fantastic, the quality is unbelievable, and best
of all, it sounds terrific. Now my goal is to learn to play as well as the
banjo will let me--no small feat.

Thank you again Suzy and Folk of the Wood for making a dream come true!

Sincerely,
Phil Kemper

Subject: Thanks for the lessons!

Thank you so much for your beginning violin lessons on your website. I just purchased a violin off of eBay, and could not figure out why I wasn't getting any sound from it. Your suggestion to crosshatch the rosin did the trick. Thanks again!

Sincerely,

Karen Litzau

Subject: Thank You Suzie

Suzie,

My Chocolate Delight arrived this afternoon. I couldn't be more pleased. The Rigel A+ Deluxe is not only a beautiful instrument, it plays beautifully as well. Thank you for your help in securing this Mandolin for me. I know it was a lot of extra work on your part since I decided at the last minute to get the Chocolate finish instead of the Tobacco. For your information my choice of music is Praise and Worship. I play the Saxophone, Piano, Guitar and for the past two years have been playing the Mandolin. The Mandolin adds a delicate alternative sound to Worship. I appear regularly on TV and have recorded one Solo album and played on five more. I also own a Gibson F5G and a Tacoma Mandolin. My Chocolate Rigel will be my Mandolin of choice. We have been inseparable since it arrived.

Thank you,
Barry Holt

Subject: excellent site!

Hey, today I rented my first violin. I can play guitar already, but I
never imagined it'd be this tough to get a nice sounding note out of a
violin.
Your site is awesome. I found it through www.resultwizard.com and I went
through your violin lessons and i'm already well on my way.
Thanks for the help. Keep the site going!

Subject: Absaroka arrived safely
Date: Tue, 11 Mar 2003 11:57:18 -0500 (EST)

Hello all.
My new absaroka arrived safely yesterday. I assume UPS was unable to redirect the package, as it was delivered to my former office. The shipping clerk contacted me upon its arrival. I ran down at lunch to pick it up. My initial response was that it was just plain beautiful. After several hours picking on it last nite, I am quite pleased. Quite pleased. The action feels fantastic, the sound rich and full. Finally an instrument to be truly proud of!

Thank you for everything, Eric Blankenship

Mickey,
Since I have your attention, I thought I would also comment on your website and the banjo since I spent a lot of time reading your commentary prior to buying. I know you've heard it before, but you have a great website that instills a lot of confidence in someone buying a banjo for the first time, and your genuine interest in making sure that everyone has a positive experience with your products is outstanding.  Your kind of customer service is rare in this day and age (unfortunately), and it is really refreshing to some across a site that is as honest and informative as yours.

As far as my banjo experience goes, I first tried "another banjo" based on the value, but wound up dissatisfied with some of the details of the banjo and a general feeling that I was not dealing with the highest quality. Since trading up to the Sierra, I can honestly say that the purity and warmth of the sound combined with the overall quality of the instrument are superb and well worth the upgrade. I learned that aesthetic bells and whistles are much less important to me than feeling like I am holding a top quality instrument in my hands. Also, hats off to Bryan and James for all their help in getting to the right banjo.

Thanks again for your help and great website.

David
