A note from Morgan Monroe: With the Celtic revival and global resurgence of this very melodic music there has been an increasing desire and interest from musicians young to old to play Celtic instruments and adapt them into various styles of music from Bluegrass to Rock. Here at Morgan Monroe we not only applaud but encourage the musician who is willing to experiment (Elvis, Bill Monroe, Beatles) with new instruments and sounds. Imagine how dull and boring music would be if it stood still!

Dear FOTW crew.

Heya you guys...

Thanks so much! I got a Morgan Monroe Celtic Octave
Mandolin just about...4 months ago, I think, from you
guys.

...in the 4 months I've
had this baby, playing her 2-4 hours a day, she's
opened up and is really becoming the nice, deep,
rich-timbered instrument she was meant to be.

I couldn't be happier with the tone. Replacing those
straight steel A strings with wound as recommended
was one of the biggest things I could do for it, and
that also helped alot too.

The extra $150 or so (I forget the exact amount) I
paid over the Trinity College model has definitely
paid off in quality. There's a
very...almond...quality to the tone.

Well anyways, just sayin' thanks.

-Dave!
