FAQs on the Balalaika

Date: Thu, 12 Sep 2002 22:13:28 -0700

an instrument called a Balalaika? Can you tell me if they're tuned the same as a mandolin? Thanks, W.S.

Greetings W.S.,

We do not carry these currently...they are beautiful instruments with a vast Russian tradition...

They're only tuned similar to a mandolin in that the chorus of strings are tuned in unison...the intervals are different in the Alto tuning...
