The FolkRoots "California" dulcimer style is charaterized by its deep body (2 1/2") and long neck scale length (29 1/4") giving it more volume than traditional dulcimers. All solid woods, metal tuning gears and ebony nuts and bridges are standard.

Established in 1968, by Michael & Howard Rugg of Felton California, FolkRoots was one of the early companies to commercially produce dulcimers. The FolkRoots "California" dulcimer style is characterized by it's deep body (2 1/4") and longer scale length (29 1/4") giving it more volume than traditional dulcimers. Body dimensions are 36 1/2" long X 7 3/4" wide. Fingerboard width is 1 3/8". In 1989 Folkcraft purchased FolkRoots and moved manufacturing to its facility in Connecticut.

FOLKROOTS MOUNTAIN DULCIMER WARRANTY 

FolkRoots Dulcimers have a five year warranty to the original owner against defects in material and workmanship. This Warrantee excludes strings, tuning pegs, frets, nuts and bridges which may need occasional replacement. Folkcraft Instruments will be the sole judge as to unusual wear or abuse and reserves the right to replace the entire instrument in lieu of repairs.
