Dulcimer for Left-Handed Players

Subject: left-handed Dulcimers
Date: Sun, 26 May 2002 11:03:13 -0400

I am considering beginning to play the dulcimer and I am left handed. Are there left handed ones or are there any other considerations that I would need to make?

Greetings,

Dulcimer can be easily converted to left hand playing...by reversing the bridge and the nut...fortunately, there are no pickguards, such as you find on guitars, and the bracing is uniform. We do this for a standard fee of 15.00...any of our dulcimers can be converted to left-handed playing (other than hammered dulcimers)...

For left-handed learning, you only need to translate all instructional media, both books and videos, to your very own left-handed playing. For instance, on left-handed chord charts, they only look upside down. With a little practice, it becomes easy to translate the chords to left-handed playing.

At your disposal, Mickey
