Hi Mickey,
In my constant search for a Dobro, I stumbled on your site and now
I can't stop humming one of the tunes you play in your Quicktime clip.

I'm wondering if you wrote it, by any chance, or know where I can get a recording of it.
And what is that incredible tune called? I really love it.
Thanks!
Myra Wood
Greetings Myra,
Thanks for the inspiring words...
This particular tune is called: "Santa Fe Rails #2"...and, yes I wrote it to reveal the solo possibilities of a squareneck Dobro.
The only recorded version of this tune is on my new instructional video: "Intro to the Dobro Part I"...however, and to emphasize a new direction for solo Dobro, I'm writing a book for Mel Bay that will have this tune tabbed out...the book will be titled "Solo Dobro" and encompass many arrangements to reveal how the Dobro can be played without accompaniment.
Thanks so much for your avid interest...be sure to let me know if I can answer any further questions...
Keep on Pickin', Mickey

Any word yet on when Micky's new Dobro video will be shipped? Waiting
patiently. . .Bob
Greetings Bob,
As of 6/25/02, the "Intro to the Dobro" video series (Parts I & II) is now shipping. ...thanks so much for your continued interest.
The "Intro to Dobro" Series has turned into a 3.5 hour comprhensive program...because you can only record a 2-hour length video in high quality on one standard VHS, this video series is divided up into two parts. Three and a half hours of Dobro instruction covering every aspect of the learning process...Part I covers all the beginning fundamentals laying a solid foundation in right-hand technique...while Part II brings you up to the intermediate level with plenty of exercises and studies to assist you in becoming an advanced dobroist.
At your disposal, FOTW
