![]() Folk of the Wood presents Johnson Resonator Guitar: Hawaiian Sandblast with Palm Tree Engraving Hawaiian Sandblast JM-998-S
Go To Our New Online Store Testimonials: Date: Tue, 18 Jul 2000 Subject: Johnson Metal Body w/ Palm Tree Pattern Hello, We spoke the other day and ya'll sent me the guitar ref'd above. I just wanted to let you know that I received it in perfect condition and I also wanted to let ya'll know...... I LOVE IT!!!!! I really appreciate the great deal, I look forward to our next deal and I am spreading the good news in Memphis about ya'll. Thanks Again James Date: Mon, 12 Jun 2000 I have been a player and collector of guitars for several decades and have had the pleasure of playing many fine instruments. Initially, I was a bit hesitant about purchasing a less-than-well-known brand of resonator guitar. I had been looking at Nationals and Dobros for some time and had really wanted a older metal bodied guitar but was blown away by the cost of both the newer and older guitars. I happened upon a very enticing photo of a Johnson metal bodied resonator and began doing some research on them. I was fortunate enough to get in touch with Mickey Cochran at Folk of the Wood who not only provided me with very helpful information, but also offered me a deal I couldn't refuse..so I didn't. Aside from the aesthetics of the instrument (I got the Hawaiian model), the quality surprised me a great deal. The sound, action and fit and finish were absolutely wonderful! Considering the instrument was about one-third the cost of a comparable model of Dobro or National I was even more thrilled. This was truly one of the best finds of my many guitar acquisitions. I really got lucky finding Mickey and the Johnson and can, without hesitation, heartily endorse them both highly. If you're looking for a great resonator and a knowledgeable, honest and fair dealer, I don't believe you'll find a better combination anywhere. Check it out..I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised. Jonathan Barron Date: Mon, 29 May 2000 Hi Mickey... Just wanted to let you know the Johnson has arrived and I am very happy with it. The case is better than I thought it would be and I love the funkiness of the look and the sound. Ricky got his today also. I talked with him this afternoon. He, too, is very pleased with the Wild Rose (much more than he thought he'd be). We'll be leaving rave reviews on your feedback (although we'll be unable to do you justice because of the limited space allowed. Once again, thanks for your flexibility and fairness. I think we'll be in touch over the years....No doubt Ricky's told you about my having a collection of instruments that goes beyond sanity. My wife doesn't miss a day in telling me that. But, hey, it's what get my juices flowing. I rationalize that it could be worse...I could be spending all my money in bars or at the race track and have nothing tangible to show for it. It works for me, but not for my wife. Speak to you soon. Jonathan |
