Gibson ES-340 circa 1969 Semi-Hollow Body Guitar: (Nice Condition Overall Condition...No Cracks only finish checks throughout...some small dings and scratches as to be expected of a 30+ year-old guitar)
We have the fortunate opportunity to offer a wonderful instrument. The original owner of this 1969 Gibson ES340 TDW asked us to sell this guitar for him. The ES-340 series was manufactured only from 1969 to 1974 with not many made.

It has the non-volute neck and is like the ES-335 except for a three piece maple neck for added stability and in phase/out of phase mixer instead of the second volume control. The owner had the phase mixer replaced with a regular pot and replaced the bridge pickup with a "mighty mite" pickup in 74 or 75 but kept the original pickup and original mixer pot in the case!! So the guitar performs as a regular 335. Also included is the Gibson hanging booklet that hung from the tuning keys on the sales rack. The pickguard was made of brazilian rosewood in 1973 and is shaped like the original (so it is not the original pickguard but it sure is pretty)

We also have a copy of the Gibson suggested retail price list of September 1969 Diamond Jubilee Gibson 75 year anniversary explaining this model. Back then the ES-340TD was offered at $525 with the ES-345TD selling for $595 and the ES-335 for $455. If only!

This guitar is a beautiful walnut color (hence the TDW designation and not TD) and is in most excellent shape. The determining vintage character are the many finish checks on the body. It has been in a stable environment in its original hardshell case and not even played for over 15 years and very well taken care of. It sounds exceptional. This is a truly fine example of a real limited run model. The Hardshell Case, in which the guitar has been securely stored, is the original case. This case had the handle replaced with a rope handle...the black vinyl shows major wear, yet this case still serves well as sufficient protection for the guitar. ( Pending) Sold 07/11/02

Electric Bass Guitars (Used)

Fender Mustang Bass 1975: (Excellent Condition...has been refinished and has had pick-up work done on it) • New Pickguard • Stained in a greenish-blue color with a rubbed stain on some of the edges so as to look "worn" • Everything else is original except for the new volume and tone controls • This is a 1975 vintage according to the serial number #625236 • The case is hardshell with blue fleece lining. Nice piece!
