Mickey et al,
First, let me say that the tune, "Hate To See Ya Go" has become, for me, one
of those songs that must be played over and over. It epitomizes what I
would like to accomplish as a (new) banjo player. I have probably listened
to it 25 times over the last two days, and still can't get enough.
Brilliant. I would be willing to pay big dollars for a tablature
representation of the banjo part.
That's nice of you to say...This tune means alot to me. I was a special time in my life when Bob Napier and I worked as an acoustic duet. I'd love to transcribe it someday...please stay tuned. If I do, I may put it up in our advanced lessons section.
In any event, your website is most inspirational and I have pretty much
decided that I will soon purchase a Deering Goodtime II, or something
similar. In the meantime, I have ordered the instructional video for
5-string banjo under separate cover, and look forward to receiving it soon.
I also bought a Flatt / Scruggs CD today. Life is wonderful.
Be sure to let me know what you think of our "Intro to 5-String Banjo" video...that is, if that's the title you did order. It does have excerpts of the Goodtime II which I thought sounded wonderful on video...
My sincere congratulations to you on a wonderful web site, and I look
forward to doing additional business with you soon.
Thanks so much for the kind words...it inspires us to work harder when those, such as yourself, have taken the time out to put in a good word.
At your disposal, Mickey
Cordially, Fred Yale

Wanted to inform you that I have received the video and enjoyed it very
much. Your style of instruction is refreshing and much better than other
tapes I have purchased. Hope you come out with a tape on licks and
transitions and endings.
Thanks,
George Pond
Thanks George,
I do appreciate your inspiring kind words regarding my video...additionally, I appreciate the idea to put together a tape that encompasses licks, transitions, and endings. I will definitely pursue it on your behalf...
Let me know if you come up with any questions regarding your banjo expeditions.
Keep on pickin', Mickey
