Subject: Happy Customer

Hello, Folk of the Wood!
I just want to say that my experience with you, from my initial e-mail
inquiries, through our several phone conversations, right down to receiving
my new bouncing baby mandolin yesterday has been a real pleasure. I was
treated professionally and courteously by everyone I had contact with. My
questions (and I had many!) were answered quickly, precisely and
courteously. AND my new mandolin is a beauty!
You may or may not know that there has been a slightly 'controversial'
thread about FOTW on Mandolin Cafe'. Reading it was one reason why I
decided to buy my mandolin from you. I, too, am in business and understood
the problem from both sides. I had every confidence that whatever
contretemps may have been experienced by other customers were either out of
your control or would be addressed and dealt with by you immediately. The
proof of my confidence in you is the thoroughly satisfying experience I've
had. Thank you - you've won another dedicated and happy customer!
Best regards, Eugene Martinez

FOTW,
I just wanted to coment on how happy I am that I bought my first banjo from ya'll. You offered the lowest price I could find and better service than to be expected. The service is what made the biggest difference. You have won me over as continuing customer.
Thank you, Cameron Baird

Hi there,
Great introduction to mandolin playing, not as intimidating as some other references I've encountered. Strange question here--wondering if you're the same Mickey I've heard much about from a man named Walt, in Sacto.?
Greetings,
Thanks for the kind words regarding our mando lesson section...let me know if I kind assist you further with your learning efforts.
I'm not sure if I'm the same Mickey...however, if they're good things, I probably am...if they're bad things, then I'm definitely not. ;0)
Yours Sincerely, Mickey

Mickey and the gang,
Just wanted to take a few minutes to let you know how much I
appreciated y'alls help with my recent purchase. I am extremely pleased with
my Rega RD-45 squareneck. Be sure to give by special thanks to Sheryl and
Bryan. They were both a great help getting everything I need. Looking
forward to receiving my copy of your new Dobro tape. Hope to be ordering a
mandolin for my wife before to much longer. Looking at one of the Kentucky
models, probably the 380.
Y'all take good care and if you're ever in Birmingham be sure to give
me a call so I can show you some southern hospitality.
Thanks again!

Hi Mickey,
Yesterday I ordered a Regal RD45 Sqareneck and a Shub squareneck capo from you guys. I wanted to tell you how I found your great site, and also ask you a couple of questions.
The woman who took my order, Cheryl, was very friendly and helpful, and suggested I drop you a line.
I told her how great the website is, and she mentioned that it is your work. Wow! Great job. I do a family site and thought that took a lot of work to maintain, I can't even imagine the hours you must put in at your site.
I am a beginner, and have already learned a great deal from your site.
As to how I found your site...
A few weeks ago, an older uncle gave me a resonator roundneck. I am a lefty who tried learning to play acoustic guitar right-handed years ago ( I gave up because I just couldn't get the fretting down with my left hand).
I figured I could learn lap-style with a steel bar more comfortably. A friend at work had coincidentally just purchased a dobro himself, and brought it in to show me. It turned out to be a Regal RD45 Sqareneck (which I didn't know at the time).
I thought it was gorgeous and did a google.com search for "Regal Dobro" at work that night. Your site came up as one of the first hits, and I have been visiting and learning every day since!
I didn't even realize the difference between the squareneck and roundneck styles until I started researching your great site.
I am looking forward to my new Regal. In the meantime, I ordered an extension nut from you this past Monday, planning to put that on my roundneck to facilitate my lap-style learning.
And check out this good fortune...This morning (Valentine's Day), my wife gives me a gift certificate she made on our PC, "good for 100.00 towards the purchase of a new dobro". Is that cool or what ! Looks like my first installment on the layaway will be coming your way soon.
On to my questions..

Subject: Re: Fwd: MP3 is happening! Todo
Mickey,
Thank you for the offer! Although we're not interested in selling the cd, I think we would like to include a little info about the music, and the players. In fact, the liner notes pretty much tell the story. Also, the cover art might be fun to include, as well. The location of the shot is a detail of the entry gates at Soka University in Calabasas... site of the annual California Traditional Music Society (CTMS), Summer Solstice Folk Music, Dance and Storytelling Festival. A great festival indeed!
Of course, the other info to go on the MP3 page would be none other than my own glowing review of my FOTW purchase... Trinity College Octave mando! I'll make it short and sweet... after much searching, I finally found the music store that offered that rare combo of a knowledgeable staff, quality merchandise, first class service, and great price... FOTW is it!! Mickey took the time to help me decide that the Trinity College offered all I needed in my transition from fiddle to octave mandolin. And I couldn't be happier! Now I can look forward to a fair market value trade-up to my next instrument, a Mid-Missouri Octave Mando (just keep leaning on Mike at Mid-Mo to finally start building them!).
Thanks to all the gang at FOW... I wouldn't have done it without you!
Happy Trails,
Tavo

Mickey,
Just found your website/store and am blown away! What a great site. The selection of instruments is staggering and the quicktime videos are just great. Plan to get a strap in the next couple of days, but will be visiting often. Keep up the great work.

Just read your Stelling history which is most interesting.
You might like to add:

Mickey, Bryan, Suzie, et al:
Just wanted to let you know the Rigel R-100 Deluxe arrived safely this

Thanks for the quick turnaround (I think you only had it in the store
for a couple of hours).
Gotta go play now,

Subject: Black Diamond
Date: Mon, 28 Jan 2002 22:09:54 -0800
Dear Shelley and Cheryl,
Just thought I would drop you a note and let you know that I received the Black Diamond on Friday evening. It is by far the best banjo I have ever played. It wasn't scheduled to be delivered untill Monday, so I had to talk the girl at Fed Ex into letting me look through their freight Friday night. I was a little hesitant to buy a banjo without playing it first, but this one has incredible tone and the neck just "feels" right.
Thanks again,
Kelly (Opie) Benscoter

Dear Sirs, I purchased a used br-1m from a music store, he took it in on a
trade, I paid 150.00 for it, because i loved the sound and projection.
The dealer had never
even heard of the brand. I havent put it down sents. My friends have gibson
j45s, and
takamines, and one friend a martin. They keep wanting to trade out with me in
our jam sessions. How you guys came up with a guitar,so easy to play, a nice
slim neck, and incredible deep lows and super clear highs. I have been asked
to sell it,
but i just cant part with it. Thank you for designing such a great axe.to say
nothing
about the affortable price. The fit and finish.and sound compare with those
guitars
costing in the thousands. Thank you again.

Subject: Re: Bridger Mandola is On Its Way!
Good Morning Mickey ---
The Bridger arrived on Thursday as expected and I have
to tell you it is an absolutely extraordinary
instrument. As you said, it has a truly "sweet tone"
and the volume and quality of workmanship are
phenomenal. It is definitely a "keeper" and will
serve all my needs for many years to come. I've grown
to expect any instrument from Weber to be superlative,
but this mandola exceeded my expectations by a quantum
leap.
Thanks for all your help and I look forward to meeting
you in person in a few weeks.
