I just wanted to write to let you know that my mandolin arrived yesterday -
the Morgan Monroe MMA-1 - with no problems! I have been anxiously awaiting
its arrival, tracking it on the UPS web daily since it was shipped. Well,
let me just say that once I got it in my hands and started picking, its
beautiful tone and ringing bass notes fulfilled all my hopes for a fine
instrument. I had been working hard on a Rover model these last few weeks,
(just to see if the mando and I were going to get along), so, taking up the
Morgan Monroe with its fine action (thanks to your careful setup work,
Tradd!), my playing seemed to improve instantly! (An illusion that, I'm
sure, will disipate with time, but enjoyable, none the less). And most
importantly, my wife can tolerate my practicing much better, due to the
Morgan's lovely tone.
