Clue #3: I played a minor role in the film: "Paint Your Wagon"

Clue #5: I love Colorado!

Clue #6: I left the "Dirt" in 1987.

Clue #7: I love being a "String Wizard"

Clue #8: I remain an "Acoustic Traveler"

"During the twenty-one years that John McEuen was a member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, he studied bluegrass music and tried to inuject it into the band whenever it was appropriate--in fact, he was the person who kept blegrass in the band. Keeping bluegrass in the band was, perhaps, one of the main reasons the band became popular at bluegrass festivals. McEuen said, 'I was fortunate to be in a band where we allowed each other the freedom of musical expression." He left the dirt Band in 1987 to "find what else was out there.' when he left to continue solo performing which he began with the Dirt Ban, he also began in earnest getting his music out in film scores."

Excerpt from America's Music Bluegrass by Barry R. Willis "A history of bluegrass music in the words of its pioneers...631 pages!...available through Folk of the Wood...Retails: 49.95 Call 888-209-8434

Mickey's Notes: John McEuen is the eclectic acoustic musician...He was most definitely the reason I listened to the Dirt Band and today, still have every album they've made. The Dirt Band introduced many a player to acoustic music at its apex. The "Will the Circle" album produced by John's brother Bill, sold over a million units making it monumental within all acoustic genres. Today, John is producing his own acoustic endeavors under the "String Wizards" name. These are phenomenal works of art and reveal John's uncompromising dedication to acoustic sounds. He truly carries the acoustic flag forward through his endearing efforts.
