Stinger Straps

Our mandolin straps are constructed of the finest suede leather. This is a strong, supple, material which lies flat and stays where it is placed. A sliding bead secures the strap to the mandolin and heavy duty leather is used at the attachment point. The beads are real wood, not plastic and every strap is painstakingly handmade for a product guaranteed to last a Lifetime by FOTW.

Choose Between 3 styles and a variety of colors.

Strap Adjustment for Customized Fit

1) Adjust the strap to fit by first attaching it to the scroll, peg head or front strap button, then placing the tailpiece button through one of the adjustment holes at the opposite end.

2) Tie a piece of string through the chosen hole to mark it and remove the strap from the instrument.

3) Snip off the knots which hold the four round beads in place at the end of the strap. Slide off the oblong bead and carefully unwind the weave to point approximate one inch below the chosen hole.

4) When you have achieved the desired length, secure the end of the weave with a clothes pin to keep it from unraveling. Slide the oblong bead back on and make certain it is snug. Cut the excess material off approximately four inches below the bead.

5) Take three of the four strands and shorten each by one-half, one and one and one-half inches respectively. Replace the round beads and tie a knot at the end of each strand. Place a drop of SuperGlue at the top and/or bottom of the oblong bead to secure it.
