Regal Resonator Guitars
INTRODUCTION
Regal by Design
The regal Resonator guitar line continues a proud old name and tradition with the new, state of the art manufacturing techniques to produce today's best value in an affordable resonator guitar.
Saga engineers have taken the best selling Regal line and added some significant improvements. The cover plate and tailpiece of all models are now slightly wider for ease in playing.
All Regal models feature mahogany bodies and necks, multi-ply white body bindings and a choice of beautiful finishes including: mahogany, sunburst, cherryburst, natural and black.
The Regal Story
Regal dobros have been favorites since the early 1930's. The first production took place in Chicago, and by 1937 Regal had taken over exclusive right as the manufacture of dobros. During the Second world War, production ceased as factories were converted to manufacture essential war time products.
Regal dobros were reintroduced by Saga in 1987, and have regained a position of leadership in the world wide resophonic guitar market.
With one foot firmly in the past, we are carrying the Regal tradition into the future. Improved finishing techniques now allow our instruments to look every bit as good a as they sound.
All Regal models feature mahogany bodies and necks, multiply white body bindings.
There are 5 finish styles available as illustrated on this page...

2. Cherry
3. Mahogany

Choosing Between a Roundneck or a Squareneck:
To determine which one to start out on, decide what styling you have a passion for...of course, you can play most any genre on either a roundneck or squareneck; keep in mind, each lends itself to different styles. For instance, the squareneck comes across very well when playing bluegrass, fiddle tunes and fast leads; whereas, the roundneck sounds great for blues stylings.
1. Roundneck....Guitar Style
Played with a roundneck not a squareneck...Most any style of guitar playing can be accomplished on the roundneck dobro...blues, country, jazz or rock can all be played effectively. Fingerstyle blues with a glass or steel slide comes off tremendously well on the roundneck dobro. If you already play guitar, you'll find that everything you already know as a guitar player can be applied directly to the roundneck dobro.
We have a great selection of Roundneck Dobro slides, picks and books/videos...following is a sampling...

2. Squareneck...Lap Style
The squareneck is commonly played within a bluegrass medium. Although, it can also come across well played within blues and country styles. You cannot play a squareneck as a guitar because of the neck being squared off and the string action being substantially high. Because of the heighth of the strings, the squareneck can be played with a heavy steel bar without any fret noise...allowing for superb sustain and volume.

4. tuning pegs face upward
5. available in a variety of finish styles
RD-75

2. narrower bottom bout body design

You made the ordering process painless and were more than willing to answer my endless questions about price, shipping and¬ packaging as soon as possible and this went a long way towards calming my fears about importing an instrument. To have such a fine guitar arrive in such fantastic condition was beyond my wildest expectations. Even though¬ the total package was¬ from the cheaper end of the scale, you folk went the whole nine yards. Brilliant!
Thanks again for your time and patience, I look forward to doing business with you again. Cheers! Dennis Britten

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, GOT THE REGAL SQUARE NECK I ORDERED ON THURSDAY. THIS IS MY FIRST DOBRO AND HAVE HAD SO MUCH FUN LEARNING ON IT I THOUGHT I WOULD DROP YOU A NOTE. I AM AN EXPERIENCE GUITAR PLAYER AND WAS A LITTLE SKEPTICAL ABOUT BUYING THIS DOBRO BECAUSE OF THE PRICE. I ALWAYS BELIEVE YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR IN AN INSTUMENT. WELL, I THINK I GOT MORE THAN I PAYED FOR FOR ONCE!! HOLDS TUNE GREAT(WAS A CONCERN OF MINE BECAUSE OF THE PRICE), HAS A GREAT SOUND AND SEEMS TO PLAY GREAT FOR AS LITTLE AS I KNOW ABOUT PLAYING ONE. HOPE TO GET GOOD ENOUGH SOON TO JUSTIFY UPGRADING AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF YOUR POLICY. IF ANYONE NEEDS A TESTIMONIAL OF THIS INSTRUMENT, FEEL FREE TO GIVE THEM THIS NOTE. VERY PLEASED. LOOK FORWARD TO DEALING WITH YOU IN THE FUTURE, BRIAN INDIANA
Date: Mon, 31 Jul 2000 Hey Folks, Got my Regal Resonator the other day. Thanks for the prompt delivery! You guys even took the time to set it up! It plays great! I saw one in a local music store today but with a different finish then mine. They were asking $175 more than I paid for mine! The hardshell case that I also ordered from you is very nice also. I even had great savings on the case! I would never hesitate to do business with you again (in fact I looking into a new mandolin)! I would recommend you to anyone looking for a great deal on an acoustic instrument! Bill Bjorstad
