Beautiful Maple open-back with an ebony fingerboard!

Pete Seeger Styles, Folk Music, and Clawhammer/Frailing are all styles that come off well on the Vega Long Neck.

Take a close look at the curly (flamed) maple neck and headstock...a nice 3-ply maple rim makes this banjo nice and solid which also seems to contribute to its sustain.

The Long Neck is specially designed for the finest sound in popular folk music. It is tuned in the key of E and can also be acapoed at the third fret for regular 5-string tuning (key of G). It is comfortable to play and very responsive. The rim has three maple laminations, mounted with Deering's genuine tubaphone tonering and is encircled with a metal bracket band. An ebony fingerboard is bound in white and inalid with Mother of Pearl position markers. An adjustable truss-rod reinforces the walnut stained maple neck. Modern Co-ordinator rods hold the neck to the rim and provide easy adjustment of the action. All hardware is nickel plated. The head is a standard 11". The guitar-style tuners are a 1:6 gear ratio for very precise tuning, and planetary tuners are optional.
