This new Artist Series violin outfit offers a fantastic value at a list price of $1295. This superb violin is completely hand-made and the clean, precise workmanship rivals the best work of any living maker. The lovely transparent varnish ranges in color from a pale amber to a delicate rose color. The trimmings are of the finest boxwood, and the pegs and tailpeice have elegantly carved designs.
The most striking feature of the SV-400 is the selection of wood for the back. The wood is one piece of very deeply figured, seasoned old maple, with sides and scroll to match. The exquisite wood, workmanship and general appearance is what you would expect to see in a fine hand-made violin costing $4000 or more, and the tone is quite in keeping with the appearance.
The SV-400 is supplied with a fine Brazilwood bow and Saga's best plush-lined oblong case.
