Free Instrument Setup
Some instruments need more setup, some don’t need any at all. Almost all imported instruments area not setup at all from the factory. You may get one from one of our competitors exactly as it came from the factory and in need of adjustment when it arrives at your home.
Each instrument shipping by Folk of the Wood is required to pass a hand inspection and are shop adjusted by our professional luthiers before they are shipped for maximum playability. Handcrafted American made instrument rarely need any setup. Regardless, they all go through our 9 POINT CHECKLIST. If for some reason the instrument cannot be adjusted to satisfy it’s standard, it will not be shipped.
Adjustments may include but are not limited to: Setting intonation, setting string height, filing the nut, raising the nut, truss rod adjustments, hammering or filing of the frets, proper bridge fitting and replacement of bad strings.
